英语专四阅读的技巧是有针对性的，看整篇文章就是为了弄清文章的框架，具体的问题我们可以不管，但文章的层次必须弄清楚。

只有弄清了文章的层次，具体的问题才好归类，结合文章后问题才能快速定位问题答案。

一、略读 skimming

英语专四阅读时，想要提速就要在阅读时注意抓住重点，比如每篇文章的首段和末段、每段的首句和末句，这样会大大提高阅读速度。

另一方面，考生不要紧张，只要全神贯注地答题就能快速准确地找出答案。例如：

First read the following question.

The general idea of the passage is why the U.S. ______.

D. accepted Japan’s surrender

Now skim the passage below and answer the question.

The decision to drop the atomic bombs, once the scientists had developed them, was not lightly made. 二、查读Scanning

适用于查读的方法一般为细节题，就是在所给的材料(一般为列表、信函、广告等)中查找有关事实和数据。

学生应先看题目，根据题意在该文中迅速找出某一具体细节，而不必把文章从头至尾通读一遍。

如果需要找年代或地点，则只需把注意力集中到有关数字或大写字母上。有时甚至只需寻找某个首字母就可以找到有关内容。

查读材料比较长时，还要判断查的内容可能出现的部位，有的内容按字母排列，有的内容按时间顺序排列，或按其他方式排列，只要用目光把全文扫描一下，心中就有数。

有时材料会很长，甚至会有少量超过大纲规定的词汇，学生在应考时不要因此产生心理负担，因为大部分内容不需阅读。例如：
