burden, cargo, load
这些名词均有“负担，负荷”之意。
burden : 指沉重、令人不快的负担；指精神负担时常有不堪忍受的意味。
eg：His invalid father is becoming a burden.他父亲体弱多病, 对他来说渐渐成了累赘。
cargo : 指用轮船、车辆或飞机长距离运载的货物。
eg：The transportation bottleneck has blocked the movement of the cargo.运输的困难阻塞了货物的流通。
load : 普通用词，含义广泛，指人、畜、车、船等负载的东西，指精神负担时，可与burden换用，但无感情色彩。
