clean, clear, sweep, dust, mop, wipe, scrub
这些动词均有“使干净”之意。
clean : 是这些动词中最常用的词，指将某物或某处的污物等清除掉，弄干净。
Please clean this table before the dinner.（在晚饭前请把桌子弄干净。）
clear : 指清除不要的东西。
They cleared the dishes from the table.（他们将桌上的盘碟撤去。）
sweep : 指用扫帚等进行清扫，也用作比喻。
My mother sweeps the kitchen every day.(我妈妈每天打扫厨房。)
dust : 指将积落在物体表面的尘土抹去、掸掉或擦去以保干净。
She dusts every day.（她每天都掸灰。）
mop : 侧重指用拖把擦洗地板，有时也指擦干净或擦去。
The nurse gently mopped the blood from the wound.（护士轻轻地抹去伤口上的血。）
wipe : 多指用布、纸等物把东西擦净，也指擦掉某物。
He went on talking, occasionally wiping at his face with a towel.（他继续说着, 偶尔用毛巾擦一下脸。）
scrub : 指用硬刷、肥皂或水用力地擦洗某物。
She scrubbed the stain on the floor.（她把地板上的污迹擦掉了。）
