It is vividly depicted in the picture that national people’s Internet readership has changed dramatically from 2003 to 2013. Apparently, the past decade has witnessed a sharp increase in the percentage of Internet readership with the data varying from 3.7% to 44.7%, showing that the data has increased tenfold during the past decade. 
In contemporary society, it is a common phenomenon for people to have an easy access to a variety of resources on the Internet. It is the Internet that renders it possible for people to read e-books conveniently. Compared with traditional way of reading, reading online is time-saving and efficient. Besides, online readers can save a large amount of money, because most of the e-books can be downloaded for free or at a relatively low price. On the contrary, traditional books usually cost a lot. However, it is also the online reading that exerts some negative impacts on readers. For one thing, a host of people read online for entertainment, which is a kind of superficial reading. Suppose people are accustomed to this way of reading, it will be impossible for them to focus their attention on the content of books. Even worse, it is detrimental to their imagination and creativity.  
I, as a netizen, hold the view that we should make good use of online reading. At the same time, we should not ignore the significance of traditional way of reading.
