Officials in Gansu province located in Northwest China have come up with a way to promote Labrang culture. The Labrang cultural project has published ten books, ten CDs, and an album of paintings.
The books are an attempt to provide insight into various aspects of Labrang culture. One volume, "Labrang Monasteries," introduces these well-know features of Tibetan Buddhism. "Labrang Through the Eyes of Western Travellers" shows Labrang from a foreigner's perspective. And there's another volume called "The History and Cultural Heritage of Labrang."
The CDs and DVDs include collections of Labrang folk songs, one documentary film about Labrang monasteries, and another about the Labrang people.
The album of paintings named "Labrang Monastery" has lots of pictures to give readers a deep impression of the great buildings, mysterious religious rites, and interior views.
