第四集中，徐公公因为牵涉到贪污受贿被吏部请去调查，于是尔淳、淑宁、沅淇三个姐妹凑到一起商量对策：

尔淳：姐姐，柳大娘还有没有其它吩咐？
英文字幕：Sis, did Madam Liu give us other instructions?

沅淇：还是那几句，凡事小心，切勿轻举妄动。
英文字幕：Just the routine like ''Be careful Don't make reckless moves.''

淑宁：她跟义父只是有名无实，说到底，她也只不过是个奴才，义父的事她根本不会放在心上.
英文字幕：Her relationship with Godfather is just nominal. She's just a slave after all. She wouldn't care about Godfather.

沅淇：不管怎么样，我们也不可以坐以待毙。

知识点1：
轻举妄动：make reckless moves. reckless这个单词在之前一篇就有提过，表示做事鲁莽、冲动、不考虑后果。其实英语是很灵活的语言，重要的不是字对字的翻译，而是解释出字面的意思和包含的韵味，所以“轻举妄动”我们同样可以解释为act recklessly, make a rash act, do something rash 等等，这个需要大家平时多积累，学会变通，遇到翻译就能万变不离其宗啦。

知识点2：
有名无实:nominal. 这个成语当然也可以翻译为exit only in name, not in reality,这样原文的意思也能表达的很清楚。来看几个例句：

eg1. He is a scholar in name only,but not in reality.
他只是个有名无实的学者。

不过在口语对话中，这样翻译稍显累赘，nominal这一个单词就解决啦。You use nominal to indicate that someone or something is supposed to have a particular identity or status, but in reality does not have it.

eg2. She is only the nominal chairman: the real work is done by somebody else.
她只是名义上的主席, 实际工作是别人做的。

eg3. The managing director has the nominal power but he is a paper tiger and it is his assistant who actually runs the company.
总经理名义上有权，可却是一只纸老虎，实际管理着公司的是他的助手。（介总经理也忒衰了...）

知识点3：
坐以待毙：sit back and wait for our doom.这里，doom作名词时表示死亡，毁灭；doom也能作动词，表示注定，固定句型是be doomed to...

eg4.The plan was doomed to fail from the start.
那计划从一开始就注定要失败。

和doom看起来比较像的词有：gloom--昏暗，沮丧; gloomy--昏暗的，沮丧的; loom--逼近，平时阅读时要注意分辨哦^^

知识点4：
for the time being:being这个单词还能这么用哦，和human搭表示人类，放在time后面就表示当下、现在。看几个例子就记住啦：

eg5. For the time being, I think there's no risk of our humanness being successfully simulated by program code.
暂从目前看来,我认为没有必要担心我们人类特有的人性特色会被程序代码成功的模拟出来。

eg6. Not that I dislike the work, But that I have no time to do it for the time Being.
不是因为我不喜欢那工作,而是因为我目前无时间去做那工作。
